Statement of Faith
Bible
We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God; inerrant in its original autographs; the sole basis of faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
God
We believe in one God, infinite in holiness, in truth, in knowledge, and in power; Creator of the universe; eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Job 11:7; Luke 1:3-7; John 17:3; James 2:19; I Peter 1:15-16)
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity and lordship of Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His substitutionary, atoning death; His bodily resurrection; His Ascension; His personal, visible return to establish His kingdom on earth. (Matthew 1:18-20; Matthew 28:1-6; John 1:1-5; John 17:5; Romans 3:24-25; I Corinthians 15:20-23; Colossians 1:19; 2:9; Philippians 2:6-8)
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts men of sin, makes men children of God through the single ground of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and permanently indwells all who so believe. (John 6:63; John 16:7-8; Ephesians 1:13-16; I Corinthians 12:3; I Peter 1:2)
Man
We believe that all men by nature and choice are sinners, and, as such, are lost, separated from God, and in need of the Savior. (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 1:20; Romans 3:19-20, 23; Ephesians 2:3)
Eternal Security
We believe in the eternal security of the believer. (Romans 8:29-39; II Corinthians 5:17; II Timothy 1:12)
Church
We believe that the church is composed of believers in Jesus Christ, united in the Body of which He is the Head. In this present age, the church is manifested in local, organized assemblies composed of born-again, baptized believers, voluntarily united for the purpose of the worship of God, the fellowship of believers, the observance of the ordinances, and the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. (Acts 2:41; Acts 10:47; I Corinthians 1:2,9; Ephesians 2:8-22)
Priesthood of Believers
We believe in the priesthood of each believer, giving him the right and responsibility of personal, direct approach to God. (I Peter 2:9)
Eternal Destiny
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost to the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:29; I Corinthians 15:52; I Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 20:11-15)
